Missing under load

Bringing in a lovely first cut and the 504 develops a miss. Going out to pull the plugs now, but I feel like it's fuel. Moved the distributor around a little and back to where it was, it's new last year. I feel like too much fuel, but will pull the line and see if I've got flow. Tried adjusting main on carb, put it back to where I had it.

Hoping I just fouled a plug, will be back in a few to check for your help and input.

It started slow a few days ago, didn't know if I was hearing things or if it was really there. Yesterday decided it was. Today baling all day got worse, tonight trying to finish, running on 3 mostly.

Thanks,

Brian

Swap holes with the plug missing. If the plug in that same hole fouls, there are issues with oil control Valve guides, or rings. Also could be
a vacuum leak intake side. Jim

(quoted from post at 16:58:36 06/08/20) Check the point gap first.

Dude, you're too good.

So new ones are often not set right and I didn't even check last year when I put new dist on. Gap was almost nonexistent. Open up, roared back to life.

This site and people like you are a godsend.

Thanks so much.

Hey Jim.

Pulled plugs, 3 had light tan dust, one was a bit sooted, but not bad. It turned out to be the gap on points. New dist last year and didn't check it. Rookie move. Set it, roared.

Thanks.
