Son started spraying his corn yesterday and I was the "gopher"--Moved the water truck--get herbicides in line--etc. I bought the Deere 6500 sprayer 10-15 years ago and now Son has it. Bought it from a Jockey--not pretty but works good. Got rid of the Deere X-fold boom and adapted a front-fold 60 footer I bought at a consignment sale.---Tee

Son was spraying the last tank of the day and I moved the truck to his place and stuck the water hose in to refill the tank and went home to my lawn chair--Wife brought me out a frosty-mug and a brew and watched him finish up--Life is good!---Tee

Hey Gordo,

I'm glad you mentioned that. I have some hay ground that I haven't been able to spray yet this year because of all the rain. I have sprayed about 10 gal. of mixture per acre in the past but I could't remember the exact dilution ratio or amount to spay per acre. So I looked at the instructions the on Round-up bottle. It says to dilute 3 pints of Roundup with 3 gallons of water and spray that mix on 1 acre. Before I start spraying I'm going to review the instructions, but do you have any thoughts on a right mixture and application rate for pasture/hay ground?

If you are trying to kill stuff with Roundup and it's the new 22 oz rate stuff, use 22 oz per acre. The simple X% dilutions are more for spot spraying around buildings. Read the label on what you have and use the rates they list.

When I owned it I ran 32 Acres/tank--400 gal--about 13 gal/A--Son runs 26 Acres/tank--15-16 gal/A---Tee

Thanks Logan--my favorite time of the year--everything is green and growing---Tee
