I got fired today

I do have a non compete.

I am going to work for them while it is fun, they want me too, told them I will retire when not fun. I will have a director position with the new company.

The stress of making payroll, customers and all else would have killed me if I kept on. I have two kids in college for the next two years, so can use the extra cash. It is best the longer I wait to really retire, and am actually thinking about buying another farm.
 
Hope everything works out.

Come on down to VA tomorrow, we are baling square bales of hay through Wednesday. Doesn’t pay anything, but the food at the end of the day is great!

Congratulations. I think even if you continue to work, it will be much easier for you. Most of the worries you mentioned will be gone. Right now enjoy it.
 
Don't stick around so long that the stuff the new owners do gives you stomach ulcers or a heart attack!

P.S.
I would not have posted anything here about no longer worrying about meeting payroll.
At least not until after all the paperwork is done.
