Black Snake

Went into the shop yesterday evening to put some tools away that we had been using and there was old blackies skin stretched from one side of my toolbox across the welding rod oven and over the small drill press. It measured 6'4". I know he's been in there for at least 6 years. We never see him but I don't have any mice or birds in there. There have not been any Copperheads. As long as he stays out of site he's welcome. I know Black Snakes will kill Copperheads and I personally do not like any snakes but I will let him stay.

I have several old containers sit down the ground for storage and not unusual to see one , and like you I never try to harm them. The fact they work on the copperheads makes them valuable to me.

In the old days they would catch a Black snake and bring it into the corn cribs to keep mice away.

Good idea . They will always try to bite you if you try to make them a pet snake. Not good with people but great to catch mice.

A few years ago, there were two living here that were about 7 ft or so. Never saw any mice or rats or Copperheads. Tried to be careful not to find them with the mower by accident.

Then back in the '70's there was White Snake. Never did like their "music" but the videos were pretty wild.

A number f years ago I an a number of friend where out on a cliff repelling off the cliff and we where sitting on a ledge. All at once we heard some noise and a black snake an a copper head came falling down the cliff needlist the say we move out of there way fast
