I keep telling myself every year that this year something will go wrong that will make me quit. This year I died back in January and got a pacemaker installed, and I also got a replacement hip so I am ready to charge ahead!

I'm in the same boat. First time in 46 years. Talked to a guy this morning that said he had hay down for 2 weeks and the rain won't let him put it up.. I feel for him but I smiled inside.

Talk about not missing something. Few years{4} was not a problem for me to tackle a TA job on a 1086. I am now hugging 80 wouldn't even try that now. But I will do small jobs being the right ones.

This is my last year. Quit row crops last year, going to sell cows this fall and sell hay. Might sell a farm. I am a year and a half from 70. I have a Harley, an airplane, and a camper, I am going to spend some time with them.

I hear what you are saying. This is the first year in 27 I will not be doing disking for others. There comes a time to quit. Tractor is getting old, and so am I. 78 right around the corner. I have been doing some fields for so long, it doesn't seam right when I see someone else has disked (my field) I will still be doing mowing. Stan

I just finished 1326 small squares. Over 400 left today on someone else’s trailer and 700 more tomorrow. That leaves a couple hundred for us to move.
A few repairs along the way but overall a success and we’ll do it again next year.

Last summer was the first one I didn't do hay in a lot of years. It was a lot of work, but I still miss it

I'm with you on both counts. Had a neighbor get mad at me for not doing his place. Too big and not enough return for the risk. Besides there is enough to do to stay busy.
