Hay Trailers

I don?t know how I ever got along without these trailers. Back
in the day we loaded rolls on a gooseneck float and that was
a pain.

Wagons will haul more per trip. Or at least ours will. Can put about 15-20 on them. If traveling very far those would be faster making up the difference in load size. I usually just load the semi with about 40 and take to the shed. only going across farm.

Looks good. I have tried hauling hay many ways, but never truck and trailer. Guys that I know that have tried to haul more than just a few hundred with a trailer pulled by a pickup, usually end up screwing the trucks transmission.

I have hauled 1,000-1,500 bales per year this way. Strapped down nothing gets away, but putting on straps is time consuming.

Now I use this wagon and haul nearly twice the load, but at half the speed. Only strap for road travel. Don?t think that the would come off, but keeps the cops happy. Unsecured loads of hay going down the road now can get you a ticket . Not sure if the police would ticket your rig if it had straps or not?? Department of Motor Vehicles targets the kind of truck trailer rigs you have for weight and licensing regulations. Both trucks and trailers have to pass safely inspection every year, and drivers must have appropriate class license. So many rules now to move a little hay

What size bales are those on that red truck? Unless they are 4' wide they would be to high for state highway bridges around here. I know of one that is 12.5' clearance in downtown of a good sized city and nothing about clearance untill you are right on the bridge that carries a railroad over the highway.

Did I count right, 20 bales X2? What size bales?

Vee rake for sure but I truly hope that the man who invented the round baler is a millionaire many times over.

From the back with the spear on front loader on tractor. Just keep pushing them ahead until they are full. Always load evenly, one bale each side each time.

The picture is not too clear, but it looks like the hitch on your truck is too far back and it's putting all the weight on the rear and raising the front of the truck. I always mount the hitch 6 inches ahead of the rear axle. Nice trailer by the way. How do you unload?

That?s my F350 mechanic truck. It has the hitch about 4? in front of pumpkin and has air bags. That?s because of the welding machine. The truck looks high in front because it has a lift kit.

There is a crank on back of trailer that release the dogs holding racks. The weight of the bales allows it to flip.

Never stand to side of dump trailer. Those bales roll 20? at times.
