Just leave it where you want it, and don't worry about it. Other than removing the handle, there is no way to remove the entire system and still have the tractor capable of moving itself. Its actually pretty handy- give it a try.

That hand clutch is the best part of the tractor, if you are baling or blowing snow you can use the hand clutch to control the speed of the tractor and still have live power.

Does it have a narrow front end and cultivator? We have a friend up north that is looking for one. Sell it to him and get yourself a foot clutch tractor. Bill

Just don't use it. However they are very rugged, especially the ones in 45s that had more plates than the ones in WDs. They will stand a lot of slippage, (ridding) with no damage. One of the main features of WDs when they came out, gave live power. When the oil in the transmission warms up and or if you use a thinner than gear oil shifting will be better. But mainly used to stop the tractor for pto equipment to keep working, doing the gear shifting with the main clutch.

That clutch stops wheels only. It was specifically designed to work with the AC round bailer. It was the first round bailer built and was the forerunner of today's big round bailers. You had to stop the tractor while the bailer wrapped the twine around the bale. Pull the hand clutch, let the bake wrap and kick the bail out. Release it to move up the windrow to make the next bake.

You can't be serious. That's like asking if there's a way to do away with the radio in my pickup. Duh, just don't turn it on. If you are serious, just take a hack saw and saw the lever off.

Sawing the lever off is going to have nothing to do with doing away with the clutch there bud. Still gonna have a clutch in there besides it?s for pulling anyway but thanks for the smart advise haha glad I couldn?t think of that hope someone told you your a genius.

ya, sell it and get a W6 . I have one off those wd45's and they are a pain in the azz just to get on and off of them. then you will have a good stiff foot clutch.

that tractor came out in the early 50s and nobody at AC could figure out a way to get on and off with any sort of reason no wonder they fell by the way with thinking like that.
