Got first load home and tarped. Got second load on trailer and covered. Could hear the rain beating on neighbors barn roof. Got soaked strapping it down. Sold all 207 bales already. One person bought last load of 130 and paid for delivery.

Grandpa Love.... Again, thanks for the great action photos! Not only are you providing for the family, you are teaching those teens a valuable lesson in life. Actually, several lessons. I personally don't cut and bale hay, but so many people think it requires top of the line tractors and equipment to accomplish exactly what you are doing. I have a lot of respect for you and the many others on the forum that breath life back into equipment that most would've scraped. Wingnut

Good looking bales. Looks like the baler has a sharp plunger knife, with the clearance set right. Makes them stack good. I can't remember what baler you have. Was it a NH 310? Rolled up 60 rolls yesterday afternoon, with the help of my oldest son raking. Low yield, about 2/3 of what those fields usually make. Calling for rain Monday through Thursday here in Piedmont area of NC.

Having that much family time and fun makes the work much more enjoyable. Playing tractors is hard to beat! Thanks for the photos. Always enjoy them!

I got confused, is all hay under cover?

It is a "spiritual" feeling when that is done, good job.

It's a New Holland 315 baler. Paid $500
for it. Getting close to 500 bales made
this spring. Maybe a good investment?

Glad to hear you beat the rain. Does your baler have a shute and wagon hitch so yu could pull a flat rack wagon and load it as you bale? Sounds like hay is a good crop to sell in your area. How much does a bale of grass hay bring down in Alabama? I know a lot of hay gets trucked into Fla. from the northeast.

JK-NY. This " hay" is terrible stuff, briars, weeds, thistle and small trees. Only about half grass mixed in. Hobby cow farmer is buying it at $2.00 a bale. Little cheap but they want it all. Hopefully the grass will grow in better the more we cut it. We are getting round bale money for square bales. But its a hobby and fun. Wr ain't losing anything
