Got a crop check

My granddaughter Ellie comes over to visit gramma most days while mom and dad work but she rarely gets to see me because I leave before she gets here and don't get home til she's gone. So she begs to see me, so mom and dad let her stay late to spend time with papa. She always wants to go see the pigs and cows and see the fields. Lol. So yesterday she went and checked the fields with me.

She dug to find the corn to see if it was growing

Checked the hay and oats too

Later she even talked papa into sharing some chocolate covered peanuts.

Ah, that kind of check! :)

Nice to see some dry dirt in May, anyhow down here haven?t seen that for previous 4 years now.

They are forecasting 1-2 inches of rain now, more than my bottom farm would need but a half inch would be welcome.

Was odd to get everything planted before property tax was paid!

I had one of those........I carried her on my arm when when she was that age with her little blond curls bouncing and her hugging my nexk to hang on. Makes you want to freeze time. She's 50+ today and still beautiful to me.

Awww, that's the best kind of crop check.

Betting that Grandma just loves spending her days with that little one (she is adorable, by the way).

Precious. You are blessed.
I am teaching my neighbor (6yrs old) how to tell the difference between weeds and the good flowers as they emerge. Jim

You will never get a better, nicer day than that! It is always good so see happy children spending precious time with loving family.

Spend all the time you can with that little princess. My 23 yoa granddaughter still likes to crawl up into the cab of the truck with me for ride-alongs. Old grand dad enjoys that special time together too.

I still say you need chickens. She could be raising the feathers of some poor hen by cuddling some poor unsuspecting chick.

Good she likes fieldwork!
My grand daughters, almost 2 and almost 3 both like to play in dirt although the older doesn't like noisy things. The 18 month grandson won't touch dirt. Kid's got some learning to do, LOL.

I have a granddaughter Ellie too, and although she's a little older (10), she's a cutie, like yours. My Ellie is into chickens- in fact, she sells eggs to us. Treasure her while she's young, they grow up too fast. That 3rd picture is classic- inspecting something with her face scrunched up, deep in thought.

I'll bet sharing the peanuts was a pretty easy negotiation for her. . .

I thought you meant a check you sign ,fold up and take to the bank , but the crop check you got is far better. I hope the little girl can visit often.

Great!! Enjoy it while you can, You will go to work, blink and come home and she will be grown up already!!
