Tractor Recommendation Needed

So, what is a good 50-70 hp MFWD tractor with mechanical or power revers-er for both field and loader work? Under $10K? If this number is to low how about under $15K. I am thinking in the 1970-1990 range. Good Steering and a Good MFWD design are a must.

My current reference is a 2wd JD 1520 with loader.

I am a JD fan but would consider other major brands with a good track record.

Thanks.

Paul

We have both a 574 with just 2wd and a 2940 with MFWD both are good loaders though for tight places the 2940 is long geared and clumsy. I have been looking for something along the lines you are. I have looked at both articulated loaders and skip type loaders. Though during steering functions articulated ones will not lift as much while turned as they will when straight. Skip type loaders are basically machines like backhoes without the hoe part on them. They will have the heavier loader and bigger pumps for lifting and speed of operation unlike some farm tractors. I have considered the fords like the 555 for this. And some of them are in MFWD like you are looking for. I am still looking too. I am looking for lift as things keep getting bigger in the machinery department so need more lift to pick up things.
