I found this Allis baler in a cul-de-sac in a nice neighborhood last Dec. Left a card in the mailbox, lady called over the weekend and said I could have it for free. Said it was working until a tree fell on drive shaft and bent it beyond repair. Also broke carrier bearing. Pulled it home yesterday. Then cut 6-7 acres of hay. Couple decks to build today and tomorrow while the hay dries

I've always had an interest in implements that aren't that popular. In this case, an Allis Chalmers small square baler. Nice.
Since I have a small Oliver baler, I'm curious about parts availability for your model. Anybody here wish to comment on that?
That last photo looks like you have a buzzard sitting on your baler. ;-)

I bought a 303 that "wouldn't bale" for a 100.00 bucks. The springs that hold the hay dogs under the knotters (I think there was one on the bottom too) were broken and the bale was never held in tension until the next stroke. Check those springs and make sure the dog moves freely. You can't buy new springs but I made new ones from Freeman baler pick-up teeth. Good luck. We're a month away from hay here. Rain and cool again today.

Wish you were close to my west Terre Haute property. You could bale my grass hay.
Friend tells me grass hay is good for his horses and hard find.

I have a penchant for things that are not real popular. I like tricycle tractors. My friends tell me to put wide fronts on. I like narrow front tractors. Maybe because i'm old enough that in my day real tractors were narrow front. when I was a kid, the only wide front tractors were for tobacco. Farmall Super A's, 8N fords and fergusons. Real tractors were John Deere A's, 60's and 620's. Farmall h and M's. I had a IH 766 narrow front diesel and sold it. Still have a John Deere 4020, 2510, and 60 narrow front.

I had the same baler for several years, worked good for my needs, had a couple of minor issues but nothing major. As far as parts if you have a former AC dealer in your area that will make getting things a bit easier. Got rid of it because my wife wasn't able to be my tractor driver
after her parents health declined so she had to spend time looking after them.
