My corn is up about 3/4", no beans up yet, this was planted on April 20th. We can start to get hay here in a couple weeks, but looks like it will be a month yet.

Planted corn Monday so its not up yet.Cut a little hay today . One weather guesser gave 5 pretty days but others gave different so I didn't cut too much.Hay was rye and up to my eyes and I am 6 2 .

We?re about 3-4 weeks behind in eastern Canada, hays up an inch or two, crops just starting to be planted.

Finished planting corn tonight. Lot of ground worked and planting going like a wild fire here. Was told there is corn up near Webberville. Some of mine should be up in a few days. Was planted the 27th of April and been cold since.

Farming in central NY has been hit and miss. April was relatively dry, [which is good, as we're typically cloudy/wet]. But it was cold, so ground was not workable a whole lot. Some seedings [hay] have been done, but there's more to go. A little corn stabbed in here and there. A week ago here in southern Cayuga county we were flooded with a months worth of rain in a few hours. Surprisingly, we have recovered from that, BUT, now it's frost every night, and snow this weekend. We're not real wet, nor getting a lot of moisture, but there's no drying going on. Soil temp dropping steadily for the last week! So, we're on a cold hold.

Got my oats in last week. Seeing a lot of farmers just now getting on the land.
Saw a farmer planting potatoes today. Many fields not even beginning tillage.
We're a good month away from even thinking about haying. Temperature was 23 degrees overnight,
another cold night coming tonite. I'm concerned for my fruit farmer friends.

On the bright side, we had 3 ram lambs born today.

Believe most of the corn and beans are planted in SE Iowa. Only have seen one field of corn popping up.

Frost hit the garden green beans last night. Those up with two full leaves look like they will be okay. Those without any leaves or only small ones may not make it. Don't know about those just curling thru.

I am 240 miles west of you and MY weather guesser showed Monday the only day next week with no chance of rain. I just told my wife no hay next week. Have some corn that is already 6 inches or better and then last planting two weeks ago is 4 inches or better, sure needs some sunshine and hot weather. West middle Tenn

Good summation. Any clay which I have a lot of randomly dispersed over the farm is not workable right now. Without this past Sunday's warm and breezy afternoon there would still be standing water in a lot of spots. The 2 week forecast is very wet. I finally got the wheat top dressed in the last two days. I know that we are farmers and it is in our blood to produce but collecting on some PP may not be a bad thing all things considered. I just have a bad feeling as to where the economy is heading and don't want to have to chase money from the elevators or find out nobody is taking unless it is a lowball price this fall.

SW Pa here, not any field work done yet. Ground is very wet, actually soppy. We get about one day in a row of non-rain per week. Looks like a tough hay year if this weather pattern stays.

So. central Mn. Most neighbors corn coming up. Mine not yet as I planted my neighbors first. He broke his leg 3 weeks ago so I did all his first. Corn and beans. I finished my beans 2 days ago. Still have to plant the organic beans for the other neighbor. Will do that when this weather trend is warmer. Really need them to come up fast so I can stay ahead of weeds. Oats and organic wheat are up and look great. 3 weeks till hay begins. Frost chance for Sun. and Mon. night. Have corn contracted for May delivery. Will start on that next week.

David I was in your area today and only saw one field of corn that you could row from the truck. I delivered big squares of straw to Farley Iowa then bought some grain bin roof vents a few miles from you. I went down route 1 south of 151 a few miles to a hog farm that has solar panels. The farm is right across from a big substation. Can't remember the name. Then went east of Maquoketa Iowa and bought a Deere 24t baler for parts then back to WI.Still a few planters in the fields and a few wet bottoms being worked but 80% or more of the crops in that area appear to be planted.Same here in sw WI. Tom

I think it was Tues that I sprayed my wheat. Record late. It went amazingly well, but only because the ground is packed so hard. I couldn't have done it on an open tractor. The days of freezing on a tractor and surviving, are over for me. All chiseling I have done has been a hard pull.

Just to the east of me is a guy combining a half section of corn on the north side of the highway. On the south side of the highway another guy is planting something. The guy combining will probably be planting that field next week, does it every year.

Here in central Kansas (I'm 40 miles north of Wichita) the wheat headed out just in the past week. Most of it looks pretty decent but we'll have to wait and see if we got any damage from a late freeze we had. Hopefully the heads were still buried deep enough in the stalk to be protected. A lot of guys were planting corn up until a week ago when it got wet again and that is up an inch or two. A few beans have been planted but I don't know if anything is up yet. Still a little too early and cool for milo - I'd be really surprised if any of that has been planted yet. There is standing water in some fields around our place right now and rain predicted for almost every day this next week so it will be a while before we're back in the fields. The rains have been really spotty - one day last week we had mud and at the same time six miles south of us they were kicking up dust working ground. A day or two later I was a few miles north of our place and saw an irrigation pivot running on wheat so within ten miles you can go from being dry to wet then back to dry again.

My corn has been in about a week...should have been up but have had cool weather. Glad it's not, tonite will be the third night of below freezing temps...E SD.

Nothing planted on my farm yet. Ground has been worked over once. I could have planted spring grain last week, but I have been too focused on getting manure out on silage corn ground. Like most everyone else, ground is cold, hay and pasture are growing very slowly. Winter wheat all looks nice and green with no obvious winter kill this year.

Vermont: SNOW COLD NASTY Ten and a half months of winter, and six weeks of darn poor sledding.

Still have maple tubing to flush, too cold to deal with water and bare hands. Got some gardens plowed, but they are just sitting. Neighbor has spread most of his manure.

I have gone back to cutting wood on the good days, spring maintenance in the shop on bad ones, but I am nearly out of used oil for heat, and finished most of my oil changes.

Spring will come some day, then it will be winter again.

East central Minnesota has been cold but dry. Planted my corn two weeks ago and it's not up yet. Thankfully. Froze hard enough that the clump of mud in the tractor hitch was froze solid. Oats is up and looking good. Planted more corn yesterday but it started snowing before I got done. Just a few rounds left. Going to freeze again tonight and tomorrow night. Corn has germinated and is shooting roots so it should come up this week.

Wet cold April here, not with heavy rains but just enough to keep people out if the fields. until last week we were out several days and 3 days this week. Nothing up here at all. I have been running a Salford Ver-till for a neighbor.

Still March in WNY! Blizzard conditions yesterday! Fear not neighbors, that bright thing in the sky is the SUN, it's not Armageddon! The deer have been hanging around the tractor shed, offering to help me get food plots plowed! Way too wet!

You can row the corn her in central Iowa. Seen a field with beans popping threw the ground yesterday. Hope they didn't freeze off.

Took a ride yesterday, seen some corn just spiking through, most beans i guess are waiting for some warm weather (plenty of them planted) none are showing their heads yet

Planted corn April 28, it's got about an inch sprout, so it will emerge once it gets warmer this week. No soys planted anywhere here yet.Its quite dry here to, worked ground is drying out.

For Tomstractors and toys, you were at the Malley farm, 5 miles NE of me, email is open, would have loved to meet you.

We had corn looking really good Friday up about 2", a little yellow due to the cold, not so good last night alot got hit with frost Saturday morning, dark and wilted. Weather guessers say it'll be colder tonight. The growing point is s'posed to still be underground and my seed dealer thinks all will ok. I'm in the same boat, just never been in this situation in 42 years.

We just got through baling our wheat. It s supposed to rain next week, hopefully it will and I can chisel the fields and let them sit for the summer.
