1951 Framall super c not charging

Hello every one i have a 1951 farmall super c that is not charging. I rebuilt the generator ( New armature fields bearings brushes and terminals.) I also put a new four position light switch in it and a 2 terminal cut out relay. and a new amp gauge. The generator is the Delco Remy three brush style with the adjustable third brush. The tractor will not charge the battery. when i pull out the ignition switch it shows a little negative movement on the gauge. once i start the tractor the gauge just stays on the negative side of the meter. if i charge the battery in the morning and run the tractor all day then go to start it up again the battery is 100 percent dead. i do not no what this could be or why it is doing it. The tractor is a good tractor and starts first crank with a hand crank in any weather i do not no how to fix the charging system. Any thing Helps thanks.

This will help.
If your battery goes dead over night, it could be a bad battery, or a current draw from some component not shutting off. Remove the battery cable over night and see if it stays charged. A good battery running without charging usually lasts 3 or 4 days. Jim
John Ts absolute perfect list.

The tractor ignition system drains the battery while running. The battery is the source of spark. Make sure power is coming to the generator from the switch. If you take the
generator field wire loose and ground it against the engine block while running, does the ammeter show charge? If not, the generator is the problem,

1951 SC did not use the cut-out or the 4 position sw Your gen should be a DELCO 1101501 GEN with reg mounted
below the gen. Is your lite sw the original and is the cutout original sounds like your system is not matched.
When you ground the field with gen running it should show charge if it does it is the cutout if not it is the
gen are all systems grounded to the tractor. You need to look up BOB Ms wiring dia for the 51 SC. The new 4
position is it the original type or a replacement
