Working at my factory job for 36 years. Each and every day we had two 15 minute breaks. At the time plumbers, and electricians were getting twice what we were getting. Sometimes they were out of work. Rain or shine we always had a job, and didn't have to worry about someone peaking around a corner watching what we were doing. Which brings me too today, around the house jobs. About mid morning I still stop for a cup of coffee. The same in the afternoon. On my tractor the only time I stop is to take a leak. I never just stop to look around as long as everything is working. Around noon if I brought a snack I will eat it and have some water. If my tractor wheels are not turning I am not making money. I don't expect my customers to pay for my lunch time. Stan

I have a friend who I've known since first grade.
He was a union carpenter for over thirty years after learning
good work ethics working on a farm for a few years after getting out of high school.
He is very civic minded and I've worked with him volunteering on various projects for the fire dept, the church and the historical society. He always takes a coffee break at 10:00 AM and goes home for lunch at 12 noon. We kid him about that sometimes but he is not only a very skilled carpenter but also an extremely hard and dedicated worker. The community is very lucky to have him around. Not surprisingly, he was always one of the last to be laid off and the first to be rehired back in his working days.
