Friend bought these yesterday. Supposed to fit ford 8n or hundred series. Thoughts? Value? Homemade?

I doubt they are homemade. They come up for sale frequently. $300 to $400 before the world went sideways. I never tried it. My 36 JD A had steel when it was new. You going to try them out ?

They have little flotation, and as long as your dental bills are paid up. just fine to use. they are very unpleasant to use on anything but soft ground that is not going to suffer from divots being carved out of it. Jim

the tip toe steel wheels. looks like they were fabricated to fit those fords. never saw a tip toe on any fords.

A friend used those type wheels for mowing around locust trees on his farm. He needed a set to fit the front too. I remember going over to his place and there his tractor sat with those steel wheels on the back and both front tires flat. We discussed filling the front tires with concrete, but never proceeded on the idea.

They may be designed to mount outside the rubber tires to aid in traction in mud. If so they would be a little smaller around than the rubber tires so they wouldn?t hit the ground till you got off hard ground. Do some looking online and you will find pictures of what I mean. I have a set of rear steel wheels here for an 8N that are much wider wheel width with staggered cleats. Not sure what to say about value? I think the OEM style steel wheels would be more valuable to a collector than those, but they would have some value just being different.

The post you linked to gives good examples of tip-toe steel wheels, the mud paddle style to run with rubber tires and the wider
steel wheels in the pickup bed, which is the style I have (mine are not on a tractor.)

As JK-NY said, those are "helper" wheels. Bolt outside the rubber.
The wide set in the linked post are mine. Supposedly originals.
