Yesterday picked up the meat from 2 hogs I had butchered. Also bought 14 thick cut smoked pork chops. 2 for wife and I. Give the rest to the kids. I am fixing ours for dinner today. I don't do grilling so what's the best way to fix them on stove top or oven?

We prefer them fried (just a trace of olive oil, so they don't stick to the pan), or broiled or grilled... with enough heat to sear them and heat them through.

These are the same ways as I cook a good steak.... and about the same time frame.

That is assuming they are smoked and fully cooked, like ham....

Otherwise sear both sides - then cover, to steam them done, like I do with regular pork chops. Or broil or grill until reaching a safe internal temp.

Wife sears them, then puts them on top of stuffing, and bakes them, the juices make the stuffing a real treat.

not much different than cooking steak in a pan. I put little oil and pepper them and fry on medium heat. I put Worchester sauce on while cooking them. like a little brown on both sides. gotta have mashed potatoes with them.

Brown them in a skillet real well, then pour cream of mushroom soup over them & simmer for 20 to 30 minutes

(quoted from post at 12:02:23 04/19/20) Wife sears them, then puts them on top of stuffing, and bakes them, the juices make the stuffing a real treat.

I do similar, use a bread pan or similar and place a scoop of dressing up against one end. Then stand the chops on edge laid over half way with about an inch on stuffing inbetween each chop.

Then bake at 350 until internal temp reaches whatever the proper temp. Is for pork to consume.

Keeps both the chops and the stuffing moist.

Sear both sides & layer them in a casserole dish with rice, chopped onions and cream of mushroom soup. Add more mushrooms if you have them. Bake at 350 for an hour or so. Add water at double the rice.
