Hay bales

Great video! Glad to see youngins' having a good time.

Next, y'all need to learn how to stack bales on a wagon.

Congratulations. First time I baled hay we put up about that many. Sloppy and loose. Next purchase was a rack wagon. Then a tedder. Couple more wagons. Another baler. Another tractor. Then a farm. Then some kids came along. It is satisfying when everything goes well. Keep all the machines working well. Be very safe running them. Teach those boys to be very safe too.

I really like a story with a great ending. Best part is although a few of you and the crew are a little sore..... Everyone must have worked safe as no injuries were reported. Most times it pays to have a safety meeting of some degree..... Just so everybody knows what to do and great time for questions. Wingnut

Looks good! If ya pulled that bailer down the road in SD without a SMV sign on it, you'd get a ticket unless you were going more than 40 MPH. Law enforcement is really fussy about that in our part of the world. I think they get $150 for the ticke. If you go to court the Judges are even tougher than that.

Not trying to be a smart a$$, just thought I'd comment on a probable difference in our part of the world. The bailer behind the truck-you wouldn't see a baler on the road around here like that without a SMV on it. Probably should have explained right away.

Brings back memories,

I started doing hay at 14 riding on the wagon stacking bales, at the horse farm, then I got my Deere baler with thrower, much easier for a one man show! Lol. The farm produces about 2200 bales a year first and second cut if l can get any weather don?t help here, nor does the clay ground. I made hay for the horses, my few cows and enough to sell both as feed hay and mulch. Other than then the heat, I like doing hay! Note to self, use stimulus check to by roll bar and canopy for tractor! Lol

Things have come a long way, stack wagons and bale accumulators for small squares, No labor involved! Just sit on a tractor!
Only time you handle a bale is when you feed it out.

Looks good - next step might be to consider adding a hitch to the baler and wagons towed behind.

Was that last year? Grass is starting to green a bit, most of the Easter snow has melted. Few of the early trees are swelling buds....

Maybe you live south of me......

Nice vid, I like the ford tractors. I need to get my 960 tuned up.

Good job! I can see that someone did a good job of raking. Good raking is more important than good driving while pulling the baler. Before I got a baler with a thrower I rigged up a dolly to go under the front of my trailer. I built it from the back of a tube framed lawn tractor. It was even equipped with wiring for operating the trailer brakes. I still have it. You can come pick it up if you want it, LOL. Have you spread the fertilizer on it yet?

Dont know much about hay but that sure seems like an excellant first run. Bales looked tight and a little heavy the way folks were walking with them.

Showcrop...... I was telling my wife that
I need to rake straight!! I asked my
friend if he wanted to spread fertilizer
and he said he will later. He just
retired in Jan and is planning to make
this a nice horse hay field. As for the
dolly........if I recall you are waaaaay
up north? Lol

Real good job, bales look real good. You have plenty of young energetic help you don't need a bunch of expensive equipment to run your costs up.Keep doing what you're doing, wish you were closer I have a good wagon running gear I'd give you, plus a couple bale chutes to go on your baler. Then I'd let you bale with with one of my Olivers
so you'd know what a mistake you made selling the 77(LOL)

Yes, southern NH, only two days each way.

My youngest son was giving me fits about the Oliver yesterday! I have on Dearborn wagon running gear. 4 flat tires and right front spindle is rusted in place. Been dripping oil on it for a couple weeks. Time to heat it and beat it! Also have this little wagon. Its 6 x 10. Won't hold much hay.

That is a good job.
I see a lot more baling in your future as folks find out about your setup and the good help you have.

Richard, I hope so. Thunder storms, and pouring rain this morning since 5 a.m. calling for strong storms and possible tornados in the afternoon....... Ugggggg.

Looks like everything worked good. It is pretty satisfying to get a piece of hay baled up with no major problems. As others mentioned you may want to consider a flat wagon behind the baler, you have the help to do it. Thank you for the video, I enjoyed it.

you done good! and just in time, considering what the weather channel is talking about this morning. hold on to your hats!
I would say you got your money's worth out of that pin in the 640.

Tracy, terrible idea!! Lol. Everything worked great! Rake, haybine, hydraulics, and baler all from you. Thank you!
