tractor, implement trailer packages?

Deere, Kubota and Mahindra all have a similar package. A ~25hp 4 wheel drive tractor with a FEL, 5 foot boxblade, 5 foot bush hog, and an 18' trailer. I want to use it to maintain rental properties (tenants park in the grass and leave ruts, gravel driveways that need renewed, etc), and the wife wants to use it around the yard (30 acres with a pond, half is timber). They are all priced around $21,500.

Any suggestions on what to avoid or what to consider purchasing? A Deere and Kubota dealership are both about 35 minutes away. Mahindra is about 2 hours.

How much of a discount do you think they would offer if I paid in full, no financing?

Thanks.

Nov 30 last year Kubota had zero interest for 60 months. I already had a 14k 20 ft. Implement trailer. I bought this to retire Jubilee from mowing. I always wanted an air conditioned lawnmower.

I didn't really want a loader because I have 2 terramites for landscaping.

Jm can tell you more about Kubotas. He is a dealer.

I went with Kubota because dealer has been in business since 1967 and the JD dealer is new.
I like the cab better.

I'm impressed with Kubota. Has better features than terramites. No plans to get rid of either.
George btw, with mower and bucket it takes up 19 feet of 20 ft. Trailer.

Deere and Kubota will have a better resale value and since both dealers are close by I would be looking at them. Although the new price will probably be a little higher for the Deere and Kubota. I have purchased 3 new kubotas with their zero percent interest programs. When I purchased my 4th one last year they knocked almost a grand off the zero down and no interest price when I paid cash instead for the tractor. Although the new price was almost twice what you are pricing out for a bigger tractor than your looking at so probably won't be as much on a 21,500 deal.

I think them packaged deals are geared more for someone who wants to finance the deal as they can barrow on the whole works and not have to finance each item separately. If your paying cash you can deal on each item separately and not have to buy it all at the same place and probably get a better price on the whole thing after you add it all up. Just my opinion which others may not agree with.

Got tool in mail today. Need wheel bearing grease. Going to get grease in grease gun tub, because both dump and implement trailer have dexter axles that I can grease with a gun.
I've been educated watching U tube videos. I ordered new carrier, spacers and bearings.
Using measurements from old carrier I think I can get it done.
Wish me luck.
George

In my area dealers are not interested in cash. I am in the board of a small equipment financing coop for farmers and we offer some low interest loans but we have a hard time as we are up against leasing companies and the financing that the large manufacturers offer. The dealers get payed from these so they simply offer the customer a no interest deal but they have set the price high enough that it covers a hidden interest and they won t give a discount if the customer wants to pay cash.
This I just a comment. I don t know if it is the same where you are so it might not be of any use.

I like zero interest. I could have paid cash. Instead my guaranteed annuities are more than making payments. So in 60 months tractor is paid for and my income is still there.
I used my cash to pay for pole barn and still have a comfortable cushion in bank in case economy goes south.

I'm glad I have a 14k 20 ft. Implement trailer.

Advice a long time ago from YT, was to buy a big trailer. Good advice, you never knew when you'll need one.

I also bought a set of Titian forks. You never know when you will need to move something heavy.

You will also need a rear ballast if you want to flex the loaders muscles and not damage front axle.
The forks are extremely handy. So get a big enough tractor. Forks come in handy to lift things high and load wood on dump trailer.
Internet is running slower than dial up or I would have posted more pictures.

My best friend got frustrated with Rusty Wreck Ford in Wichita when they turned their noses up at the idea of cash.

You could put the whole works on a credit card, get the percentage cash back from the CC company and get the points on the card to take a vacation when this mess is over. Then pay the card off in a week or two and smile because you beat the system.

Fantastic idea. I have $20,000 available credit on my credit card. I did something similar many years ago when I bought a car.

Do your research on the so called package deals. The local jd dealer did that briefly. Didn't take to long for people to realize it was cheaper to buy everything separately. The Kubota dealer was just as bad. I priced a smaller tractor through the local kubota dealer. I asked why they were so much more expensive than the dealer 50 miles up the road. The other dealer had a package deal with the exact same tractor and loader along with a rotary mower, box blade, and a trailer for a thousand dollars more than just the local dealer wanted for just the tractor. They called me a liar. I told them to look at page such and such in the Tractor House magazine sitting right there on his desk they have an ad. He looked and went into a spiel about how they care about their customers more than the other dealership. I told him maybe so but at least they aren't trying to price gouge me like you are and walked out. I haven't been back to that dealership since. I have absolutely nothing against Kubota, they make fine machines but their local dealers in this area suck.

If possible I would stay away on the red, son in law has one with 145 hours on and clutch has something wrong with it..Had a friend bought a big one for hay baling got to use it 3 weeks out of 4 months....others may have better results..

My brother threw his credit card out at one local Kubota Dealer to buy a 5,000. mower. They were going to charge a percentage of
the amount if he used the card for the purchase. I have to listen to the parts guy complain every other time I'm buying parts when
I throw my card out to make the a purchase, usually its when its over a couple hundred bucks at the same dealer. The elevator I use
to deal with had a sign up that you would be charged extra for large purchases of seed and fert. if paying with a credit card.
Maybe its just a local thing where I'm at. Even the gas station down the road has a cash price and a credit card price which is
higher.

It's simple math; the cc banks charge the retailer generally about 3%, but sometimes considerably more, of the purchase price as a "transaction fee". On many larger items, or commodities, that can be a substantial portion of the vendor's margin.
