Got a text from a 330-277 number this morning , someone spoofed my cell number and was sending unwanted texts all over and my phone Went nuts with unwanted reply s I did not send them , heck i don't even know how to text . Vary few have my cell # and the ones hat do i know when they call because my phone will say Eugene , Bob , John who ever that i know and each has a different ring tone . So again i did not do this .
 

Report it to your provider and ask them to block text from your number if you do not use the feature. With computerized switching it is simple to spoof numbers.
 
we have already done that . For the past year i have been getting bill collector calls for a person that i do not know , i have been getting calls for SAM and i am not SAM , and if i could personally find this RON that used my number for this substanual loan that he used my number for i would personally collect what he owes MY WAY .
 
Take a ride to your outlet that deals with your cell company (like Sprint, Verizon, AT&T) and sak with strength and determination for help. Because only a few know the number, and you don't text, getting your SIM crd replaced, or reset with a different number will likely be needed. They will have some 6 foot stay away rule, but that is the way it is. They are an essential service, so should be open. You can call them if you want to prepare for your encounter, or if they can do it while you are at home (less likely) don't tollerate it because they can call others through your number and even place international calls (pricey) or sell your personal data. I have a Consumer Cellular flip phone with no text choice. Recently got similar barrage of calls from 2 numbers in one area code. Called CC and reported the problem. They issued me a new phone number and it's quieter than the one they gave me with the $50 phone I purchased from them last year.
 
Lots of number spoofing going on. I actually got calls from my own number two or three times. Caller ID showed my name just as it is listed in the phone book.
