Cold As Winter

Today was about +10f when I started my day. It was ideal for the job of hauling wheat to the cleaning plant. The bins were located in a spot where it would have been mud and water to drive through if it had been mild. Got a little greasy on the surface by afternoon but I got my last load out by 2 so no problem. Wheat is clean and ready to go. Combines are rolling as I type. Neighbours traight cutting hailed oats. Once the frost starts coming out of the ground they won't be able to get around as well.

I am about 400 miles south of you, it did get about 32 for a while, but that wind was cold for April. They still trying to finish 2019 corn, around here, the only good thing the grain is about 16--17 moisture.

I heard one guy here was cutting last years wheat yesterday and it was 15.4 moisture. Two points better than last fall. Still 59 pounds per bushel.

You are quite a bit cooler than we are, just hovering
around freezing here this April 14. I like your grain
truck and have been wondering, did you paint it to
match the Case tractor colour scheme? Aura a nice
old truck

The International was that colour when we bought it used in 1984 so I can only assume that is a factory colour. Its been a great truck but pretty underpowered on a day like yesterday with headwinds and uphill most of the way to the cleaning plant. Also impossible to get new front brake drums (which it needs).

That was great. Saw your original post - was a little disappointed - no video. And then you had one. Enjoyed it very much - in isolation. Are the Buffalo back ? Hope you are well.

Too bad about the isolation some people have to endure. I'm very lucky out here in the sticks where social distancing is a way of life for me. I don't see the buffalo yet but expect it won't be too long. There is no grass growing yet so he would still have to haul hay bales to them.
