Ben a while back you posted that your daughter was making a video of your gas producer. Is it available for viewing? I have a producer that I am thinking about putting on a tractor.I am interested in how to connect it to the intake and controls. The producer came from Australia with some engines a friend of imported years ago.It appears to have never been used. Thank you for any help.

It's part of her documentary project at college right now. If you go to YouTube and search for tractor running on wood gas there should be a minute long video of the Fordson tractor. An older gas engine with a long stroke works best, since they tend to have a higher manifold vacuum needed to sustain the fire, but there are many adaptations and working examples of all kinds of engines on you tube as well. If I can be of any help, let me know and we can arrange an email link.

Good Luck!

Ben

My uncle today stories of running a car on wood smoke during the war years, don?t think it ever did a lot but a couple slow trips to town. Think it was during the gas rationing era.

My uncle built a wood gas generator(no plans) many years ago, ran his pickup with it. Drove it from CT to NY on I84 and said it didn't do well on the hills. Used to run a hit and miss engine from it at shows and use the engine to run a buzzsaw to cut wood for the gas generator.

Thank you for you reply.I found your videos on You tube very informative. I am sure I will have questions.I am one who likes to do something different at shows like my Field Marshalls and Fowler VF.
