So I left them shedded with full gas tanks mixed with stabil. After 6 months of sitting they both fired right up.

The battery from the generator tractor is looking a little worse for the wear these days.

Topped off the cells and it charged okay in about 24 hours and she fired right up though.

I am not sure where this crazy itch comes from, but
lately I have been thinking that I?d like a ACWD row
crop tractor. I have never had or ran a AC tractor,
and I can?t explain why, but I just think I want one!

I kind of have the same itch but with the posts on here am thinking about a Case 830,930 or 1030.I have no need for it as I have three 4020's and 4 3020's plus a bunch of other Deere tractors. An Allis 190XT is also on the want list. Tom

(quoted from post at 16:37:26 04/06/20) Is that an 8 volt battery?

Yeppers! Tractor came configured that way, previous owner had used it that way since at least the 70s if not... The 50s.

(quoted from post at 17:33:00 04/06/20) Once you hear it run, the itch will get worse. Nice snappy engine.

Ben

Indeed. One of them has the M&W piston kit in it. Purrs like a kitten!

I have that itch I would like to have a John Deere A, 620, and a 630. I find hand clutch much easier on left knee to use.
Oh I already have an original paint 60.

Grandpa always ran it that way that I know of. Not sure when he first put an 8V in it. May have always done it that way, or may have been after he had the M&W piston kit put in circa 1970.

Nice looking tractors, looks like they're ready to work. Did there used to be a garage or something over by that big tree and pole?

Yep, used to be an old garage there. Got torn down about 3 or 4 years ago I think.
