Our family is really struggling with the distance learning.
My middle schoolers on average dropped 2 letter grades in most subjects.
Here in Ohio they said schools will not resume until at least May 4th. But right now that is better news than Indiana has - they've cancelled the remainder of the school year. I think I even read that the Indiana governor said that no one gets promoted to the next grade - they all must repeat their current grade.

I believe that rumor was put out on April 1, and was later debunked. Nobody was in the mood for a joke, at least not that one.

As an April Fools joke, my son and his wife told their 2 kids that everyone whos last name started with an odd numbered letter had to repeat last years grade year. Everyone with and even numbered letter would go on to the next grade. They were NOT very happy. For a while.

Indiana is doing e classes. All students that pass will go to the next grade or graduate. Trust me I have 4 kids in school..or sorta in school? lol

That's good. I didn't realize it was a joke or debunked. I thought it was pretty excessive to hold everyone back but it wasn't my problem so I just shrugged it off & moved on.
