Been training a new hired hand

Even though his legs are kinda short, and he can?t use a full size bucket, he does seem to have a good work ethic. Probably going to take another dozen years to get him fully trained. He has learned a fair bit in the last 22 months, but not ready for a management position just yet.

Nice Bruce! Always good to have a little buddy around to help ! Does he get paid in pie ?

O GUY ..... doesn't sound like payday would be much fun for you ..... unless you are exaggerating a wee bit ..... ha!

JD .... yeah, I guess all the kids raised in town might as well be tossed out on the scrap heap, they never amount to anything and are just a burden on our society. Those kids never become doctors and nurses and teachers and electricians and mechanics.

CH, do you really have to make a snide remark? How about giving it a break....we all know you are the smartest guy on the forum.

Guy once told me--the best thing you can teach your kids(Grandkids) is how to work. The second best thing you can teach them is how to play.

Na, he looks capable go ahead and give the kid a management position! Just stay outta his way when he's driving a tractor! Lol

Looks like you will be sent out to pasture sooner than you think...!

Great pictures, my girls often helped, then drew pictures of the cows at school the next day. Some needed a bit of explaining...

Wife was always after me to play more with our three sons. I always said "I'll may not teach them how to play, but I'll da-- sure teach them how to work" Must have been OK, they're all successful happy married guys, with great wives. Oh, they played a lot too.

You are correct. Sometimes it is not. When we signed 51 checks one night, I decided to pull the reins in some for my sanity. Didn?t help much!!

Well, mine might have been a snide but yours was pretty cutting too I thought. And no, you might think I am but I'm definitely not the smartest guy here on the forum.

I took what jd said to mean that save us all , as in feed us all ! Lots of good kids grew up in town, I am married to one ! And farm kids don?t always stay on the farm either, I have a brother with a BA ,MA and PHD, and has been a Professor with tenure for over 30 years. And I can tell you for a fact, he hasn?t ever forgotten his roots on the farm, milking cows, gathering eggs, hauling hay, he hated it all, lol. We are all different, enough said.

He's a cute one, for sure. Enjoy your time with him.

It's been made clear to me that I'm the last generation who will be farming here, and I'm slowly coming to grips with that. I guess we want better for our kids, and maybe growing up on the farm and then finding something they love to do elsewhere may be the best thing. It's a real conundrum, isn't it?

(quoted from post at 22:45:35 03/31/20) Well, mine might have been a snide but yours was pretty cutting too I thought. And no, you might think I am but I'm definitely not the smartest guy here on the forum.
I'm definitely not the smartest guy here on the forum".....no Einstein need to see that! Just a "pot stirrer you are!"
