Tach adjustment, Maybe?

Do you know if this style tach is adjustable? Seems to be on the low side of running idle. Reading about 200....I think it is a sun tach??? Inside says it's for 8-cylinder, which is what I have. Not running in pic.

Many vehicles now use a wasted spark system sending a spark to the plug on the exhaust stroke as well as the firing stroke per cylinder. This means the number of timing pulses is possibly 1/2 the number one would think. The pain is tremendous. I can't guarantee that is the problem, but seen it. Jim

I had a RAC tach back in the 60's and it was adjustable.

My comments below only count if the ignition is retrofitted with newer style or after market. Some tachs have 4/6/8 switches. Some are adjustable, but only for idle, some are just wrong. Jim

It has points system and coil. Not seeing a setting for 4,6 & 8 cyl...

I had a 65 Chevelle , dark blue with the same color interior as you. Don't know about your tach. I have seen one with a switch on the back.
