SV I was looking at yesterdays post and just realized it is a 24 valve! Dumb Me! The only thing I don't like about the 24 is the computer. A Mennonite about 80 miles northwest of me can put a 12 valve pump and cam in a 24 and do away with the computer. It really wakes one up! If I get enough money scraped up I want to buy a 6.0 ford with a manual transmission and stick my last remaining 12 valve bus engine in it. That way I will have a truck with a decent body, bulletproof engine and no computer.

Your phone takes pictures like mine so it's hard to tell for sure, is this the same engine you had welded before?

If so, is it cracked in the weld or continuing on beyond the weld?

Why are you using pipe plugs that will only expand the crank vs. cast iron repair plugs that have a special thread that is made to hold the crack together rather than spread it?

Because the special kits are 700$ I checked into them several times I bought a non 53 block for 500$ and this method has been done with success contrary to what the yt corps of engineers thinks .

yes we welded it and it fixed that crack but he didn?t have a decent way to preheat or slow cool it .
