OT Ford 150

Otherwise mint 150 starting to rust/blister above rear wheels, located used Arizona bed but is white with mine being gray. How successful would repainting replacement bed to grey? Are we talking big buck$?

White is the easiest color to paint over. Should be no different than any other paint repair.

You could replace the wheel arch panels on your current box also. Around these parts, that would cost you $1000 per side.

Don't worry dwag, the bottoms of the doors and the rear cab corners will be blistering soon. I just did my twice annual rust prevention under my '06 super duty two days ago. I prefer to not have rust.

Every decent body and paint man knows how to "age" a color to make it match.

I crawl under with WD-40 and spray the known problem areas. A day or two later after the WD-40 has had time to penetrate and displace any moisture that is there I follow up with aerosol chain lube The chain lube comes out watery thin so it will penetrate, and then sets up. I did it the first time when the truck was 4 years old. Rust had started at that time but has not advanced since then.

I would see no issue in doing it, rub out rest of truck to make it shine.

Fluid Film is the best undercoat rust preventative product on the market. You can buy it in bulk to spray on yourself or you can buy spray cans of it . IT stays on,always pliable for the application
