I posted this on the Combines board too, but just to make sure it gets out there I'll post it here too.

I'm thinking of building a 1:64 model of the AC All Crop we had when I was a kid. If I posted pictures with the dimensions I need would someone who has one be willing to put a tape on it?

If you went 1/16" possible but 1/64" I dont think you could get the parts down that small, the whole model would be less than 3" long. I have seen them made in 1/16"

I've spent some time looking and haven't found a pull-type combine in 1:64 anywhere.

It'll be tiny for sure but the rest of the diorama is 1:64 so it'll be missing a lot of the small details but if I can get the general proportions close, I think it'll look okay.

For instance, I'm assuming the apron on the header of a "60" is 60 inches wide, so that'd be a hair over an inch with the sides and the snouts, etc.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

It'll be more of a suggestion than a model, but with some patience, tweezers and my big ol' magnifying lamp, I think I can come up with something.

If you have pictures, you can identify a known dimension such as the diameter of a wheel rim, and make yourself a scale.

Let's say the 16" rim measures 1" on the picture. Your scale is 3/4" to 1'. As long as the pictures are fairly straight on, perspective won't be much of a factor.

I realize an all crop 60 and a John Deere 12A look nothing a like, that 1:87 is quite a bit smaller than 1:64, and not really what you asked for, but you might like taking a look at the items GHQ models makes. Very nice and very detailed. ghqmodels.com.

There have been 1/64 AC All Crop combines built in the past by I believe Erv Weber. I have one. If need be, I may be able to do some measuring.

The only one I have seen Evert Webber built was in the Deyersville farm tow musium and it was 16". Wvert Webber was a next door neighbor to my mom when she was growing up.
