Nebraska Cowman

Did anyone ever visit the Nebraska Cowman webpage? I would rarely and it seems to be gone now. Does anyone know what happened to it and if Howard is still ok?
Phil

I visited a few times, not much activity. I do know Howard is a good man to deal with. I needed a hydraulic pump for an IH 504. He said he had one, but didn't know if it was any good. He suggested I send him $50, and he would send the pump. If it turned out OK, I was to send another $100; if it was no good, let him know and he'd reimburse my $50. He sent it, it was good, I sent him 100 bucks, and that, as they say, was that.

Funny part was that I ended up not needing it. What I had thought was the fill level plug on the side of the housing was too low, and kept the pump from getting a full supply of oil. It was a 1/2" pipe plug with a 1/4" pipe plug drilled into it, so it sure seemed like a fill level plug. I ended up brazing a piece of welding rod to the bottom of the filler plug and marking where the level should be. No more problems. Still don't know how you were supposed to check the level.

I just know a few years ago very few people ever visited it. Haven't tried finding it for a few years. Met him at Red Power roundup at Lima, Ohio. Talked and he said he would like copies of pictures I took there and gave me his mailing address. Sent them and he never let me know if he ever got them and he had my email. Haven't heard anything about him since the day at Red Power. I remember some time back one of the posters said he was closing his parts bussiness. That was all I remember he said.

There was a discussion about him last year on the Farmall board (I think), and it wasnt pretty, but I dont believe the accusations that were made. I suspect though, the board was closed due to lack of visitors, and as what happens when someone gets a little famous he may have just gotten burned out. Met him on 05 at the TN RPRU, seened like a pretty nice guy, even had supper with him and others from YT who dont post anymore, or have passed away.

They built a new web site for the club (I think it was Nebraska antique farming assoc.) so that may have been part of him shutting it down. I know I'd check it about once a month and there'd be maybe 3 new posts.

Can't even abbreviate association any more?

It seems that it was back quite some time ago, Howard had posted he getting out of the parts business... that might have been on his ownsite (as I used to read there frquently but never registered to post).

We bought some used parts from him and he was a really nice guy to deal with. Very reponsive to emails, and he even emailed photos of parts for my husband to see prior to purchase - to make surehis rust was the right shade for our tractor.

I chatted with him phone once and I'd have to say that I'd give Howard a "like button" and a "thunbs up".

Saw Howard at RPRU in Bloomsburg, PA. this past June. A couple guy had passed and younger guy's were on FB. So I think the web site just didn't get used anymore. I to would read and post there But have not In more than a year or two.
You will See him post from time to time on YT and on FB pre39 group. Always enjoyed all His Red Power project!

I did visit it but haven?t tried in a few years. Last time I checked it there wasn?t much activity on it. I always did enjoy when he posted here and hope he is doing well.

Howard has a lot of cows now, and I would suspect that calving time/spring work is keeping him real busy. He is a good friend. the old Cowboard died of inactivity.

I am a neighbor and we talk pretty often. He is ok and busy as stated calving. I haven't been to his site as I assumed it was closed. We are friends on FB so I see his posts there. And yes he has quite selling parts as far as I know.
