I thought I read where the 580K tlb takes the same oil in all sections. Am I right? And if different what differences are where.

I read somewhere that they have oil that is meant to be used as engine oil and hydraulic oil.personally I am skeptical, and I think it's more of a convenience thing so people only have to buy one oil for there brand new machine.but if I had a new machine,I would rather use engine oil in the engine, and hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system.

It's my brothers hoe. He was telling me this morning the machine would not move yesterday. Set all winter. Am I right in the torque converter is in the shuttle section behind the engine ahead of the short drive shaft?
I do the same thing. Just needed some information there. I have been using the hytran type oil in the hydraulic and 15-40 in the engine. Now do I want to use the same hytran type oil in the shuttle and torque converter? I am guessing they use 90 in the 4spd transmission though I think hytran would work in there also.
Thankyou for all information on this. Will be checking back later today.

Sorry I completely misunderstood your first post,I thought you were talking about oil in general.anyhow,I just checked the manual, and it says CASE TCH in hydraulic system and torque converter, and use CASE HYTRAN ULTRA for transaxle and brake reservoir.but as I understand it the new CASE HYTRAN ULTRA formula surpasses the TCH and of course the old hytran formula.if I was you I would go to or call case dealer and they can give you the exact specs of the hytran and you can use that in place of tch but remember even though case is twice the price it is worth it.and if you choose to use a decent alternative, you will want to use both hytran and tch in those areas, because only case hytran can be used in both if that makes sense.

I was once thinking about buying a case tlb. Not sure which model ? But when I was looking at the specs. they called for 15-40 engine oil in everything.

I just talked to a dealer. They told me depending on the S/N It would use either TCH fliud or Wet brake fluid. The "wet brake fluid" is an oil with special additives for the brakes in it. I now need to get the serial number off the machine and the transmission to know which. Sounds like a snake oil deal to me.
I thank you guys for the help. I appreciate it.

I used to have a fleet of Case hoes,, down to three now, I changed over everything in my 580L's, sorry I forgot they would be calling for TCH still in a 580K,, as that what what they used when built,, glad you checked,, not that it would matter I doubt as it never did in mine but better safe than sorry,, TCH is great oil too sold lots of it from 66 through 76
