Changing glow plugs

My 35 year old (antique) Kubota four cylinder is acting like it only has one operating glow plug so I decided to install new ones. This looks like the simplest job on the tractor but I thought I'd ask and see if there is anything to watch out for? I will be careful with dirt entry.

pretty straight forward. unless you have one that is expanded at the element and it breaks off inside. the u have a problem. if it wont pull out then use some brakleen sprayed in it and twist it around and pull slowly. then you could crank engine over to blow the junk out. I use a bit of neverseize on the threads.

Like the other poster say usually a easy job, unless one breaks off. We do them all time in the
shop. Be sure and walk over to the wire brush or take sand paper and really clean the end of the
little connector wires. You need good connections. Did you check them or just go buy new?

I checked them with the meter after I posted the above. They read .3-.8 ohms which I understand to be good. I cleaned everything up after the check. I may leave them in for the time being and hold the "heat" cycle longer. The tractor fires up grudgingly one cylinder at a time. It may turn out to be tired injectors but it runs great once it starts so I don't want to open any new cans of worms.

My old Kubotas have a glow coil on dash to show when plugs are hot, It also works has a fuse. If it isn't glowing than glow plugs are not heating.

Not being there I can only guess buy lots of folks do just like you without testing. Only takes 10
minutes to remove one and actually see it work . My first thoughts to you would be get some fuel
conditioner, something that raises the flash point , then as you say glow it a little longer.
Looking at the pictures I can only guess 25+ years old. May be time to service the injectors/
