Just one hose? Just lift? Gravity lower? What about 2nd hose on haybine? I'm thinking the lever on tractor is the control? H low on hp?

If you have a single acting cylinder, that will work. The one on your haybine is two way so the experts here will guide you on hookup. Your H will run it, but will have its hands full in a heavy crop with a 9 foot haybine.

You can use a 2 way cylinder as a one way by removing the down hose and put a breather in place of it. I have a couple of cylinders like that. If you are into heavy hay with a 9 ft haybine you are going to have a lot of problems with an H. I run my 9ft with my 300U which has a TA, live PTO and more horsepower than an H and it is all it can handle in heavy hay.

I use my Super M on a 9 foot IH haybine , the hydraulics are plenty strong enough. I have the Christmas tree valve and use a 2 way cylinder, but you can make it work without the valve. In heavy grass hay it will make it work fairly hard. I have used my Super H in a pinch but it really is too small for the job.

Have to define heavy hay. Here in Ohio grass alfalfs mix an H has plenty of power, normally 3 cuttings per year but if can time things right and weather cooperates 5 cuttings per year. We used a 41 H with belly pump single hose 3" cylinder, no problems. Pull rod back to raise, forward to lower. Left side or front right either will work as they work together for a front mount cultivator ond back if for delayed lift on cultivator. Alfalfa and timothy or orchard grass or possibly Red Clover instead of the alfalfa or a mix of the red clover and alfalfa plus the grass.

You can mount a standard open center 2 way valve. Run a hose from outlet on pump to in port on valve. Run a hose from out port to drain on bottom of pump. When you engage pump it will circulate thru valve and back to pump. Simply hook the 2 hoses to haybine to valve, using standard quick disconnects.. Viola, you have 2 way hydraulics. You can get the valve at surplus hydraulics or even tractor supply.

They have the hose deal right. I think you will be much happier with the M on it over the H. If you have much to mow I think you will find the utility tractor models awful hot setting right over the transmission like that.

FWIW, I would concur with using the M and, especially if you are going to mow the old 40 acre horse pasture, lighten up the head on the mower. It's been almost 45 years since I had one of those so I can't remember what the manual says but I always tightened up the header springs so that one could easily lift it the first 8"-12" with one hand. The hydraulics will react quicker and, it will also tend to bounce over the odd guard breaker stone.

I have ran tractors setting over the transmissin for years doing heavy field work and no heat is not a problem, only problem with heat is if you have a horsintal muffler close to where your foot is.
