My (step) son has a cousin named Adam Keys that was born in Nova Scotia and his family moved to the USA when he was a teenager. When he was old enough he enlisted in the military. After training he was stationed in Afghanistan. One fateful day in 2010 him and the 3 others he was traveling with had their Jeep blown up by a roadside bomb. Adam was the only survivor of the 4. He lost one arm at the elbow and both legs below the knee. Upon first arrival he was estimated to have less than 1% chance of living. He spent 5 years in hospitals and had dozens upon dozens of surgeries and years of rehab. Now he does stand up comedy, is a motivational speaker, he?s participated in the Boston marathon , helped auction off cars at Barret Jackson in aid of veterans and a couple years ago he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. What an amazing man. One of his surgeries was experimental and required the President of the USA himself to give written permission to the surgeons. This is my son Dawson telling his cousin Adams heroic story.
