Getting My Knee Replaced

Well I'm going in on Wednesday to have my left knee replaced. I'll be glad when it's done but not looking forward to the recovery. I didn't have a good experience last time I was put out so I guess I'm comparing this upcoming surgery to my last one and I know that's wrong. Have many of you had knee replacements? Both my parents had theirs replaced with no complications. I'm hoping for the same.

Both done 10 years ago. Never think about it. Walk 1/2 mile every day. Do the rehab therapy and move on. Don't dwell on it.

I had my left knee replaced six years ago. I'm very happy with the after market parts. Not quite as good as the one I was born with, but a whole lot better than the one they took out. One thing - even after six years it still feels strange when I kneel on that knee. The no feeling still feels weird.

Had knees replaced in 2010 and 14 Was driving tractor 8 days after surgery both times. Hips in 18 and 19. Little more recovery time there. I would be in a wheel chair if it weren't for modern technology.

Therapy is important, DO IT!!

Ditto that!
My wife had her knee replaced last October. Back to 100%+ now. Be sure to do all the therapy and exercises they prescribe. They told her that the people who have the most problems are the ones who don't do that.

I have had partials on both around ten years ago. It is no big deal. just a minor bump in the road, and like getting ten years wear off the body. While convalescing make a list of things that you had decided that you couldn't do because of pain and prepare to do them

I've had both replaced, one 15 years ago, the other 5. You'll never look back, do not skimp on the therapy, but just staying active works fine. I'm 75 now, still heat with wood, so 10 cords or so a year are pulled out the woods, cut split and stacked. I've cattle so in and out of the skidder a dozen times a day, same with field work no problem. Running is somewhat problematic, actually downright comical. You won't. I'd say full range of motion, I use a pad to kneel on, usually a piece of 2" pink Styrofoam, but a guy should anyway. Good luck............... Larry
