Hello,

Got an AC D17 Series 3. I m looking down under the "passenger" side where the traction booster adjustment block is and I see oil leaking. I ve attached pictures for reference (the second one isn t mine it s just for illustration). Is there supposed to be a plug in this hole? What size if so? Thank you!

Hello saubz, welcome to YT! It seems as though no Allis gurus are lurking about here on Tractor Talk. Maybe
you could get a response by posting on the Allis board. See my link. Sorry, I?m a Farmall guy.
Poke here

Thanks for the suggestion. I did get an answer over there but can t seem to post a link.

I would post this on the Allis board, there is a guy goes by the name Dr. Allis who was a mechanic for Allis Chalmers he most
likely can answer your question.

Not an Allis person. It does look like there is a plug in there already. It does look like it is leaking at the threads there. I would drain, with plug removed use a magnet, to try to get any shavings in the threads out. Then put plug back in. I have gotten so I check all plug holes where I drain oil out of on transmission or plugs that could get things in the threads. It has fixed a lot of leaking plugs for me on things like that.
