I needed a 301 international tractor block and thought that s what I got. After doing some looking at it I m not sure what I got. The serial number on it is 306750r11 anyone have any idea what it is?

Look on your post on the Farmall forum. The number you are talking about is not a serial number, but a casting number or part number. And yes the deck height is the reason you will need to shim the sleeves to make it right for the sleeves you will put in. They probably were worn and needed cutting to clean them up to set right.

C301 would be gas and D301 would be diesel.

The casting is nearly identical, but the head bolt pattern is different between the two. C301 has 15 bolts further away from the cylinder and the D301 has 14, but are closer to the cylinders.

Good luck finding diesel pistons if that s what you re working on.
