Rebuilding hydraulic cylinders with wire ends.

I had to rebuild two hydraulic cylinders that use a wire to hold the end in place. I hate them. It requires 3 hands to put it together. They are a big pain trying to line up the hole, holding the wire in place and then turning the end to wrap the wire around.

The spanner I use is a two handed operation that attaches to a 1/2 ratchet. I wish I adjustable spanner like a cresent wrench that I could adjust, then use one hand. Anyone know where I could get one? Has anyone made one?

Whip out your cobalt drill bits and make one!

When you decide on the roll pin size see if you can find a smaller one that fits INSIDE the larger one makes it a little stouter. Also getting the length right is important. You don,t want any more sticking out than the depth of your holes.

Jm,
I have a set of different roll pins. I can drill out the end on cylinder to fit the pin.
Only challenge is to drill the crescent wrench.

WOW! I'm gonna make one. I actually needed one yesterday. Will need it when I reassemble the cylinder.
