YES.... when men were men or incredibly desperate. There is a video somewhere
showing them running with log trains.
 
Where were hose made?does anyone know where the footage was made? Truly incredible machines, we may think we work hard but nothing like that.
Just think you could eat all you want and never gain weight. And live to the ripe old age of maybe 50.
 
My Grandpa worked two winters north of Marquette, MI with a logging crew, I think it was 1919-1920, he was 18+/-years old. I wish I knew the years for sure, but the story hasn't been repeated in 25 years now.

The crew he was with used horses to pull those log sleighs, one guy was used to pour water on the tracks to keep the ice built up.

The guys got one night a week off- Saturday probably, and a train took them to town about 20 miles away. Baths were Saturday evening whether you needed it or not.
