Nice restoration! I believe these were built in Finland. Not sure of the sequence, but Valmet came into the Volvo tractor group, eventually bought out by AGCO. AGCO is using their diesel tractor engines in the big tractors built in the US.... the SISU diesel. I have seen them on the AGCO assembly line in Jackson MN. My relatives in Sweden were using Valmet tractors on their smaller farm.

Valmet started production in 1951. Some time in the 1970's, it became Valmet/Valtra. In 1979, Valmet bought Volvo BM, as Volvo wanted to focus on industrial machines. In 1982, the Valtra line was introduced, I believe being built only in India (at the time) for the EU market. I think AGCO then bought part of the Valtra line in 2002 and then bought the rest in 2004.

There's a LOT of mergers and acquisitions and such in that tractor history. Very difficult to follow!
