Going to be stopping by Ames soon and wondered if there are any tractor-related things to do/see while there (or in that area). I'm particularly fond of Oliver and MM things!

Also looking for general recommendations for "don't miss" things to do/see in that area. Or even good restaurants. Thanks.

The university has a great Ag engineering program, might check with department head if you can tour.

My kids are at university there.

You got that right!

Their place mats have stats on how many pounds of meat they go through in a week, how many customers they serve, etc. It's mind boggling.

As other have said, great place to eat with reasonable prices.

Sodly states he likes Olivers. I know Charles City is about 2 hours away, but is there anything there that an Oliver buff would want to see?

Iowa State University has an animal farm north of town with a huge research facility. I'm not sure if you can take a tour or not.

Everyone in that area raves about Hickory Park. Personally I didn't think it was worth writing home to mom about (even though my mom was the one who took me there).
