I use the biggest lawnmower AGM batteries in my 2 terramites. If the battery is low, charge it. The alternator only puts out 15 amps at full speed. So lights my drain battery. I install fans on mine. I need to charge battery at the end of the day.

Measure voltage of a fully charged battery. When running fast you will get at least 14v.

You will measure about 24 to 28 VAC going into voltage regulator.

It's not rocket science. It's a 20 to 25hp Kohler engine. Just a like a lawn mower.

Found out the plug under that regulator that is kinda stuffed back in there. You get enough crud in there and everything does a slow cook and fry of connectors. Fryed the one on mine, plug and all. Just wouldn't start one day. Dielectric grease is a wonderful thing. Just a little does it. Years latter it is still happy.

I've seen that happen on lawnmowers too.

That's all part of troubleshooting. Get the volt out and look for bad connections.
