Just an update on my post from a couple weeks ago about going to get a tractor in Nebraska.

Got it home and unloaded, even drove it around the far side of the yard to park with it's new siblings.

The sheave just above the blade is the same shape as a LeTourneau sheave, but the rest looks different. Does not appear to be one of their Power Control Units, but there were some others out there. The dozer blade does not look like LeT either. Looks like someone fitted up a PCU/CCU, overhead ridge beam, sheaves and trunnions for a dozer blade. Love those old Cletrac's !
Intriguing, I'd love to know what the PCU/CCU is, the tractor is from the era when RG LeTourneau's earthmoving products were just becoming popular.

The PCU is a Buckeye. As in Buckeye Ditcher Company. I believe the blade is too, but was originally on some other tractor. Blade has remnants of OD paint on it. The overhead frame is home made of oil field pipe.

I bought it for the PCU as I have a project in mind for it, the dozer setup is nothing special, although I did manage to push the snow out of its current parking spot. I have another similar tractor that has a hydraulic dozer on it.

That is something, a lot of obscure manufacturers back in those days. Possible that blade came off a government purchased tractor. I can't tell what it is, does not look familiar, but LaPlante-Choate, & Bucyrus-Erie were making dozer blades back then. Given the time span, could have been pieced together. How is the undercarriage on the Cletrac ? Looks like street pads, love the engine covers on these, pitched like a roof top !

(quoted from post at 14:21:49 02/12/20) Too far. ;) Picked it up in western Nebraska, hauled it back to eastern ND.

That's not too terrible bad, good road trip. Main thing is you made it back all in one piece. I'm sure you ran into some weather this time of year.
