Around here , there would be no shortage of meat at the diner table. It would be either hot tongue or cold shoulder or both, but not always in that order.

My 1st wife tried to tell me what to buy, not buy, sell, etc one of the main reasons she's my EX wife, never been one to live under as my grandmother used to call it "Petticoat Rule".

Must not have been too long of a list as hard as she tried to get back together, one time around that track was enough foe me.We still get a long fine just the marriage didn't work, she wanted to be the domineering SWMBO type and
I haven't needed anyone to tell me what to do since I was about 12 years old, clash of cultures I guess you'd call it.

I never asked my late wife's permission to buy anything. Someone asked her why? Her reply was I would only buy things I needed to repair things with. Tools saved us money in the long run.

ot tractor, but I have bought those the same way, too. I bought a motorcycle & had a friend ride it home for me since I didn't have a license. I took him back to his car at point of sale. Wife asked me when my friend was going to come get his motorcycle. I told her that I bought it. She kept asking me for a week when he was going to come get his motorcycle. "he" left it here for about 15 years until I sold it. She did finally stop asking.

my wife encourages me to buy things I enjoy ,or that make our life easier , I do likewise for her

I did a side job last year and the wife knew what that was worth. I had been looking at a cub that didn't run and was on the fence. Long story short I came home from the job with a tractor and cash in my pocket.Let's just say the cash didn't stay in my pocket for long but I got the tractor.

When I bring another tractor home, my wife will ask "Do you have one like that?" If I say no, she says, well we need it then. If I say yes, she says, well I guess we needed another one then. She is a gold mine.
