Neither one is red but it pays the bills,
JD is brand new going to Idaho! Truck
they gave me to drive is not new but
newer then the Pete I was driving and lot
less miles on the Freightliner! Boss sold
the Pete, and he just bought the
Freightliner, kind of feels like I earned
a stripe! Lol

What part of the world are you going though on your way to Idaho? If you are going through SD on I-90, stop for fuel in Mitchell, call & I'll hook you up with a tour of the words only "Corn Palace". jal- SD

They talked about going to a corn fired boiler a few years ago, but corn prices went up sharply, so they kept the gas fired boilers & just updated the system. Too bad they didn't stay up where they were when they were doing the study. jal-SD

I was given a new Freightliner at work 2 years ago, I drove it 3 days and told them to give it to someone else. Rough ride, poor mileage, not driver friendly.

Taking I80 out, loaded at Iowa city, I will remember that, I stopped at Mitchell probably a month ago when that cold snap was! Woke to 9 below out! Most likly will stop again some time!

I don't like the rpms maxing at 1600, makes it dog when I shift! The seat is a little firmer then I prefer, little better then setting on a board but still air ride so not horrible! I have better visibility in the mirrors then the 387 pete I was running! Just wish they didn't buy a high rise sleeper, catches too much wind, but it will work!

Just curious. What is the deal with such narrow tires on the tractor?? Or are they just so big around?

More than likely a tractor used growing onions, beets or potatoes...long axles are also common out here.

When the radiator splits and dumps the coolant on the ground and a few other less than desirable things happen you will think you are cursed in that freightshaker. You'll want your pete back. I was at that truckstop at the 209 I-80 one morning the guy is setting there with that problem. I never saw a truck model with the problem those have. The Classic was a much better truck even the newer ones. A Pete or KW will not be equaled with those model freightshakers.

The reservoir seems to be what cracks on them, they bought a 15 as well and the reservoir was cracked and the dealership said that was a common problem! Amazon has aluminum ones for a few hundred dollars might fix it better!

I drive a Freightliner for my part time job. It has a Detroit 60 and I like it OK other than it is so loud in the cab that I am worrying about hearing damage. Also it is very plain with no options.

I'd have looked put for you today but I had to change an air compressor.
Funny, guy blows an air bag, doesn't dump the trailer suspension to get home empty, and burnt up the compressor.
