International 454 Hydraulics

I have a 454 International gas and it has aux hydraulics on the back, they are stamped IH. It also has a loader that is [u:26ed72ddf3]NOT[/u:26ed72ddf3] IH loader. The controls are located at about calf high on your right leg. They appear to be in a place that makes them factory original. Whoever hooked the loader up, has the loader run from these controls, even tho originally they appear to be used for aux hyd's only. However, even tho I only use aux hyd's a couple times a year it would be nice to figure out how to activate them. Is there a switch or lever to over ride the loader and have the aux work?

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Terry

Hi Terry, so do I understand correctly that you have two loader control(1 for boom & 1 for bucket) behind your left calve?
And the hydraulic hoses for the loader plug into the remote hydraulic outlets at the rear of the tractor?

You have a couple of options. First and best one is if you can find a power beyond plate to install that with a second, stackable valve. This would allow you to use your remotes in back with the loader intact. The second and decent one is to put a couple hoses from one remote to another valve that then runs the loader with 2 valves stacked together. They can be bought at most any farm store or other places. Surplus Center or Bailey sales is another Both are online.

We had a 6140 Allis Chalmers 4x4 tractor
with a loader and also a 3 point backhoe
on the back. It was traded in because they
couldn't run both from tractors 2 remote
valves. Had to unhook bucket hoses and
plug in backhoe. I just cut into the main
pressure line from hyd pump. Running
pressure first to the backhoe then routing
backhoe return back to tractor hyd system.
When took backhoe off just had to quick
couple hoses on tractor together. Was
worried about forgetting to clip them
together and bursting hyd pump. So put a
relief valve in hyd pump line set at
3000psi. Just let it dump oil on ground.
But never forgot. But you can get a male
hyd coupler now with a hole in it from JD.
Hope this is clear as mud.lol.

Thanks Cat Guy I appreciate it. If thats not my cup of tea, would a tractor mechanic be able to pull it off? I have some mechanical skills but hydraulics is not one of them.

Please send a couple pictures of rear hydraulic hookup and of the loader.
My Dad had a 454 Diesel and now my brother has it plus a the newer CIH 495 version, I spent many hours in the seat of the 454.

How many remote outlets do you require for the implement that you will hooking to the 454?

Ihave a 454 Ih and run the round baler that requires 2 hoses. one to raise baler back door and one to power down the back door. If go to float down it won't lock in. As soon as it locks I have to pull up a little on the lever.
