Auction time -tractorhouse

What are you asking about? My brother has bought a few things on there. Tractor, planter, disk, grain cart. things seem pretty straight forward from what I have seen with him.

I have sold one item and bought numerous items. Transactions are painless. If selling you need to go through a listing agent. Payment was prompt on that transaction. On some of my purchases I sent a check for payment to Auction Time and on some I paid the seller at the time of pick up. Either way works. As I recall you can also pay via a phone call with a credit card. But that will have a 3% convenience fee or whatever they prefer to call it.

I buy and sell every week on auctiontime, have done so for the last 5 years with no problems, my oldest Son is an Auctioneer and he handles the sales. nAbout a year ago auctiontime started allowing sellers to charge a buyers fee if they chose too, some do and some don't, when choosing an auctioneer to list with avoid those who charge the buyers fee, buyers definitely bid less in those auctions and many wont bid at al;l, I probably buy 6 pieces of equipment per week on average and I hardly ever bid on a listing with a buyers fee. If you go to auctiontime.com there is a tab marked ''find auctioneers'', click on that tab and you can search for an auctioneer by geographic location or by the total list of registered sellers, I know most of them and know the ones who concistenly sell for the best prices and whom to avoid, what stae are you in?

(quoted from post at 06:18:16 02/08/20) Has anyone used auction time?

I've bought two tractors that way, the first was listed for $10,000 on the dealer's lot, I got it for $3400. The second one I paid $19,000 and sold it 6 months later for $26,000. I took a chance on both, but turned out ok in the end.

i wish i could say auctiontime was as great for me as it has been for LAA. Only a couple have been easy, most have been difficult, auctioneers and sellers. if there is a reserve on it i wont bid, if you want to place a reserve on it put it on ebay. If there is a buyers fee, i wont bid as high. I only watch for certain things on auction time anymore.

I have been burnt on auction time. Just bought a skid steer on there a few weeks ago. Description was totally wrong, not 2 speed, not pilot controls, spent $3500 at the local dealer getting problems fixed. If you do buy, I suggest that you don't pay by wire transfer, take a cashiers check. Inspect the machine and if it isn't as described, leave it there. You probably risk being black listed by the site. I see it as a place where some dealers dump machines that they don't want to sell on their lots. Good part is you can call the seller and get information if they are willing to share. I have been watching for awhile now and I just don't see anything selling cheep enough to take the risk. I do much better at local auctions where I can check things out.

I have bought a truck, three power units, and some small items. All were good deals. I purchased a rack of six electric welders on a no reserve auction, for $700.00. The seller was expecting $3,000.00 to $4,000.00, and would not complete the sale. I complained and the seller was banned from any business with Sandhills Publishing for two years. He has been allowed to resume business, only after I approved it. It?s like any other auction... buyer. beware! Ron

I have real good luck, got a field finisher for $2500 that was listed for $10,000 before auction. Last week I bought a white 5100 planter on 15 inch rows for another bean planter, it was cheap, but I have never owned a white before.

I have bought and sold with Hamilton auction company out of Dexter MN. and was very satisfied with all transactions I have had with them, I have bought several items that were listed with Auctionblock out of Audobon Mn. and at least one transaction with Zenke Auctions from Caledonia Mn. and was also satisfied with those transactions.

Tlock,
You may have had difficulty with communication after the purchase and pick up arrangements, I have had the same several times so
I started contacting the auctioneer to find out if the equipment was located at the auctioneers lot or at the sellers farm or
residence. I don't buy much equipment that is located at sellers place because many people won't answer their phones and are too
hard to line up pick up time and dates with, we haul a lot of equipment and have to stick to a schedule or its money down the
drain.

If the machine was not as advertised you did not have to pay and you would not get blacklisted, if the auctioneer stated that they did not know what the machine was or any history and you were ''buying what you see in the pictures'' then that is a different story, but actual misrepresentation will get the auctioneer blacklisted, not the buyer. If I were you I would still contact auctiontime management and discuss the options.

these online auctions have wised up,, they will only tell the basics, make, model, serial number, tire size, horsepower,, just your basic Tractor Data stuff,, otherwise known as CYA,,,
sometimes when you call, the seller can be a real 'horse trader' too,, so buyer beware,,, best to go look if ya can,,

I have bought from on line auctions site unseen, pig ina poke,, etc.,, but have bid accordingly....

I have used both a lot in the past years but now not so much and I am careful of the bidding. it looks to me that some of the dealers are putting equipment up for auction but if you bid seem at the end it going for almost what they asked. also I have heard some people say they watched thing sell they bid on but lost and then the equipment never left the lot. if you do set your price and stick to it. just my 2 cents.
