I ordered a new super duty today, price was much better than I expected.

I had the auxiliary electric cab heater on old one, got that again, surprise comes with 400 amp alternator.

They also now offer heated strip for wipers from factory.

did you get all the doo dads on it? i bought a new 2018 2500hd chevy gasser in the wt work clothes. way morestuff than i wanted, but it was the least optioned truck i could find. at 20000 mi i got the tpms light on grrr. not reading the lt rear wheel. sticker shock on that these trucks go for. heres a pic of one of my customers truck. this has all the toys, close to 6 figures. sheesh. thats the mrs modeling.

I can truly say i will never buy a new truck ever again. since you can NOT get a real TRUCK . No longer can ya get a standard transmission and darn hard to get one the way you want one , long gone is the day of dragging out the BUILDERS book to spec one . Long gone are decent colors , and long gone is picking the gear ration you want . and i will be darn if i am going to spend that kind of money on something that will never make you a dime i don't care what you plan on usen it for .

I got to pick all the options I wanted.

I do not want a manual transmission, this is 10 speed auto.

Rear end options.

I picked the 3.55, which is same as before, could have got 331 for economy.

heres a couple pics of my hd , its a long bed double cab 4x4 6.0 gasser. farm truck . 4:10 gears 6 sp auto trans. so far been a good worker except for the tpms sensor

David I am on my second 10 speed and that is the real difference in the new trucks. One never knows when it shifts. These guys hollering about cost of ownership would be surprised to see my per mile over the last 20 years, trade ever two years and never a battery, brakes and all that other stuff. I just divide the miles by trade cost with taxes and that is my per mile cost.

Looks like we are close, I have been paying around 14,000 for two year trades with 75,000 miles. King Ranch or Lariat

Enjoy your new truck. We bought two new vehicles in the last four years and it's great. We get twice the fuel economy and we don't have constant repair bills. The new safety features are also very nice. For people who like older trucks, more power to them, I think that's great. I have an older Colorado for my run around truck and I love it but for my main vehicles, I will never go back to older stuff. Just one caution when buying new, do your homework! One of my friends bought a new 1500 Silverado and didn't like it at all (no power, weak springs), traded it in for another new one and again has the same problems. Too many options for engine and springs with many trucks designed for ride and not towing.

I just got a 2020 gmc 1500 4x4 with 4 doors today. I wanted the 10 speed and Chevy didn?t off it in the 1/2 tons. Traded in a 2014 Silverado with 129000 miles.

Did you know you can't get a truck with spoke wheels anymore, either? What a shame. Still, the big three don't seem to have any trouble selling their HD pickups, even though they run upwards of 50K. And they charge extra for the running boards! Go figure.

What is the lead time for delivery once the order was released ?

Congrats on the new one, it is really something to appreciate.

This is the reason why I take meticulous good care of mine, trade in/outright sale does better, condition excellent, and the fact that a person can have the privilege of modern technology and ownership. Some just trash and abuse them, (aside from working them). Next person gets a well taken care of used one. + it's just plain ole nice to get in and drive one that is well taken care of, especially the interior.

Our new '17 GMC 3500 at work, is trashed already, 70K miles, saturated with cigarette smoke, tires almost bald, interior trashed. It reeks so bad, I cannot drive it anymore, took it to a jobsite 2 weeks ago, my eyes watered/burned & sinuses were awful the next morning. I'll take mine next time. The previous one was just as bad, made the same mistake, spent 12 hours in it, 800 miles, was the 2nd reason I bought new, was not going to drive something that I was allergic to.

Saw a local ad for a 1 ton 4 door 4x4 dually chevy diesel automatic for only $ 75,000 and change ! WOW that is alot of money. I wonder if you can get a 30 year mortgage on one ? The Amish work crews who run alot of those are going to have to raise their rates.

If I bought a truck that cost $75,000 the personal property tax for one year would be over $3500,costs me a whole lot less than that to keep older ones going.Let the rich folks pay the taxes(LOL)Couple BMW SUVs and a million$ house can't imagine their total tax bill.

I found this '15 last fall with only 37,000. I was only looking for another plain work truck like the '99 next to it but wasn't seeing much. It's way more that I wanted but with that mileage/condition and price it was too good to pass up. Last truck I'll ever have to buy.

Well, all out of my league with an 02 Caravan and 07 Civic ...... but I am happy for those of us who are dollars ahead by buying brand new stuff every two years. Sounds like they're owning and driving for free. Not sure if that is possible but it must be ...... LOL !!!

Bought my first new truck in 1980- basic Ford with manual. It ran good for many years. A couple of used trucks since then. Bought my last truck a week ago - a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 4 door with a small Duramax. Getting over 30 MPG on the highway a little less around town. Drives like a dream compared to that old Ford. GMC is offering big discounts for another week or so. Got close to 25% in company and dealership discounts, another nearly 25% for the trade. Had to go from MN to Wisconsin to find the Duramax though. Sales tax on the balance and lots of $ into license and assorted little fees. One of the kids or grandkids will get a nice truck someday, sooner or later. Will enjoy it while i can and hope David , Ray and others get good use from theirs

I found this 2007 2500HD Duramax Silverado about 2 years ago. It popped up for sale in Iowa with only 69k on it. I knew it wouldn t last long so I gave them a deposit over the phone to hold it for a couple days, flew up and bought it.
It was like having a brand new 11 year old truck.

I 100% agree with tractor vet,if I am going to buy a truck, its going to be a working truck not a truck with all these gadgets, and truthfully if they did not have emissions that cut your mpg and towing in half, they would be a lot better trucks.yup I will take a good $10,000 truck with a diesel, manual, and roll up windows before I spend $80,000 on a jacked up Cadillac.JMHO.not looking to get into a debate, just sayin' as it is.

I bought my "retirement truck " a 16 F250 4x4 XLT crew cab gasser, October 2015. Just rolled over 17,000 miles. Don't plan on needing to buy another. It will be paid for before I retire late 2022. At least that's the plan.

Good luck on your search. Let us know if you run into Santa or the Easter Bunny on your way. I'm sure the Big Three can't wait to build something along those lines.

i was talking about a used truck, that was the intent of my post, that i would never buy a new truck.and there are plenty of 10k work horses around.look i am not trying to be a nay sayer, and its its not like i will stop you guys from buying new,and i am not trying to,i was just saying,so please don't take offense, and even if i wanted new,i could not afford it.

My last new truck was a 1979 Chevy K-30..After driving older trucks for many years I decided last August that at my age I deserved one last new truck...I got a carry over new 2018 Ram Tradesman 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi..It will spend most of its time on a new Starlite 25 ft tandem dual gooseneck trailer....Now I can go to tractor shows and tractor pulls in air conditioned comfort with out worrying about break downs...On the same day I bought mine the dealer sold two more carry over 2018 2500 Ram Tradesmans...

Our 01 Silverado is rusting out and has 195k miles, wife was wanting something a little nicer looking and body shops wanted $8-10k to fix and paint the old Chevy. After a good bit of searching used and new we found a 2018 F-150 STX least return with 15k miles at a good price, STX package is based off of the plain XL model, good looking truck with power windows, locks and mirrors, nice radio but manual cloth bucket seats and no other fancy interior options.
After comparing all other brands the F-150 STX had more bang for the buck than any other truck, unfortunately STX package is not available on reg cab or long bed.
Kept the Silverado for a daily use vehicle.

For work truck My 2004 F-450 will probably be my last, with 128k miles on the body and 20k miles on the fresh rebuilt 5.9 Cummins swap and a manual trans, there's nothing out there that's as reliable and simple to maintain as this truck, no reason or desire to ever replace it.

It costs my business about $7500 per year for truck depreciation, take 1/3 of what I would pay in taxes makes my cost about $5K per year.

Bought my 2016 Duramax Dually new for $42k, had sold my 04 Cummins Dually for 20K...so just a little cash to boot. Then wrote it off on taxes for the year and uncle sam got nothing even after recapturing capital gains. Owning a business has its benefits.

My last 7 vehicles haven't cost me $10K total. Haven't had a vehicle payment since 1997 IIRC. Just can't see spending that kind of money on something that loses value the second you sign on the line.

Is that the 4 wheel drive shifter in the floor. If so I love that. Mine is an 08 with that dang little knob on the dash and no light to tell you when its in 4 wheel drive. I hate the dang knob.
