Boy I bet those cost a pretty penny. Look darn nice though. Hope they stand up and fix any leaking problems. Hey.. buy one for a very pretty paper weight.

So does that handle screw in tight for a positive shut off ? Or is it the type that just keeps spinning with up and down means open and across means closed ?

If you are talking about the screen filter in the inlet, yes, I have seen those. I have even added that screen to a couple of my Farmalls with rusty fuel tank issues.

You can get the same thing for about 2 cents- just cut a piece of copper tubing about an inch long and stick in the inlet. Gets the inlet up off the bottom of the tank, and will keep most sediment out. What you do get settles in the sediment bulb. If you're still getting enough to be a problem, its time to clean and seal your tank.

Looks good to me. BTW what would it matter if the shutoff was threaded or just 1/4 turn? I have a unit like that that has a screen on the inside of the glass with a wiper with a handle on the ouside that you turn to clean the crud off the screen. Ed Will Oliver BC

I made my own. I think Ford 8N had something similar if memory serves, which it usually doesn't. I found the screens either on this site, Stieners or Dennis Carpenter Ford parts. I bought just the screens. You have to drill out the inlet a little to get them to fit. I use those in my dirty tanks.

I used a brass screen such as you would find in the top of a sediment bowl. Rolled into a cylinder, cut square on one end, stuff it into the inlet and then squeeze and crimp the open end.

In my experience the valves without a positive shut off that you turn in tight to shut off will always seem to drip a little fuel by them and not completely shut off.

yes mike it is the kind of shut off thatjust keeps spinning,up or down...i worry about that rubber under that pendelum ..have not installed yet to see...its so nice i almost dont want to put on tractor...its really nice work...........dewy

i was really talking about the brass body an the made in the usa ,an marvel schebler etched in the
body, stainless steel baler....its pretty...hope it works good as it looks............dewy

I'm sure being new it's chances of shutting off will be better than all the old ones like that I removed because they do not shut off. I have a whole box full of them.

Curious where you got it from. When I google "Sediment Bowl by Raymond Buetel" it leads me to YT threads or all kinds of stuff including pictures of the space shuttle.

I must be missing the point (as I often do). I thought the whole point of having a glass sediment bowl was to :
1) Catch dirt and rust
2) Show you when you have a problem
3) Be easy to clean whenever it gets nearly full

Seems like having a fine screen in the tank means you won't know there's an issue, until your engine is starving for fuel under load. Then you have to drain the tank to clean it??

This filter assembly is really a work of art.It is extremely pricey as well.
I have tried numerous brands and types of sediment bowl filters, all of them resulted with a crank case full of gasoline.
I can't bring myself to put an inline filter and a bunch of shutoff valves on my '48 John Deere D tractor after all the time I have invested in this
tractor, If it works like the builder says it does, I will be very satisfied.
