any help or advice on this planter would be greatly appreciated

I believe it said model 12,,and the plate was a 37x

I wanted to find a planter like that so bad when I
was in high school never did find one . General
implement had a planet junior advertised in their
catalog but when I called they said they were no
longer available. So I still don?t have a planter .
Where did you find that one

my nephew found it many years ago,,but it was way back in a shed at my brothers,,he didnt even know it was there,,looks like new inside,,no rust or anything inside,Do you Think it will work?

I've got a 3pt Cole planter that I bought
at an auction two years ago for a song.
It's just like new. They still make them.

Larry that is a corn plate. If you plan to use it I suggest that you put
some seed in it and try it in a driveway or some similar place so you can
see the distance between seeds. You might find that the plate plants seeds
to close for you.

It'll work, I use a Covington which is similar. Cole is still building that planter in Albany, GA. Check out their website. Different plates/parts are available
from them and that auction site also. New ones aren't cheap. Good luck with it, it's a good little planter.

Larry,

Click on the links below, looks to be an earlier model with the cast or steel lids. I am not sure what may have changed in between, but would guess they are quite similar or the same, yours and the 12MX model shown. There is a link to manuals in the 2nd link.

I cannot think of a more useful tool for you to have seeing the garden plots and strips you have. You will probably need to check out how it's calibrated. Maybe you can run it over a large tarp and see the spacing of the seed and how it is performing. I've longed for one like the Planet junior or possibly one of these, but likely won't need to plant that much. I have planted a 50'x70' patch all in sweetcorn before, it grew nicely. I would also need a 2 row cultivator for the weeds, then again the troy built horse might do that just as well.

Can't wait to see it in action and hear about how it works.

I have several Cole planters, couple single row and a tool bar set up with 2 planters on it,those are the double plate planters that will plant two types of seeds at one time in the same row.Something like corn and pumpkins. One uses right hand plates the other left hand. For seed spacing different plates and different gears can be used to change it.Think I have around 300 plates in all have many of them hanging on my side porch rafters. My master plate list has something like 130 different plates listed.

You bet it?ll work my cousin had an old John Deere that John himself probably helped build and it works like a dream . I use to do big sweet corn patches but don?t have the land anymore

Measure the diameter of the inside hole there are two different sizes, yours appears to be the smaller plate but need to make sure.If so it uses the same size plates as the
Brinly garden tractor planters.

(quoted from post at 10:52:07 02/04/20) I plant my sweet corn with a 1 row Covington planter. It puts out fertilizer and plants at the same time.
hat is the way we use our Cole.
