I have a 52 Ford 8n. After getting it running, I played with it to make sure everything was functioning before changing oils. I pulled the dipstick to make sure read end and hyd reservoir had oil obviously. It was a nasty color and needed changed. Here?s my problem. The hydraulics worked fine up and down, no leak off with blade on it before I changed oil. However after I changed the oil it started to jump as it goes up and slowly leaks off, even while running and pto engaged. I used regular uthf. Is the oil too thin, possible he dirty oil affected pump and now clean oil bypasses or what

Back in the day 90W oil was used so if you put in a UTF and it doesn't meet the Ford 134D spec it could have loosened up a bunch of junk so now it is getting into places that are not good to have sludge etc. in

I've been using a UTF oil in my 8N that meets the Ford 134 Spec for over 30 years. Have never had any problems except the 3 point would settle. A month ago I decided that after 67 years It was time to do an inspection. One valve in the pump was hung up. Other than that and putting in new gaskets the pump is in great shape. I did update the cyl and piston. The old ones had a bit of scoring.
